We offer free health and wellness classes until further notice. The classes listed here are continued based on site availability.

We offer an array of services and resources designed to reduce stress, increase mobility, and improve the quality of life for Contra Costa County's seniors. These workshops and educational sessions encourage older adults to live their lives to the fullest. They include:

 

NUTRITION EDUCATION

MOW Diablo Region offers SNAP-Ed direct nutrition education classes; Eat Healthy, Be Active Community Workshops based on USDA Dietary Guidelines. Our classes promote nutrition, obesity prevention, and healthy lifestyle approaches for our senior population.

 

TAI CHI CLASSES

MOW Diablo Region offers Tai Chi for seniors. This low impact, gentle form of exercise helps seniors improve flexibility, strength, balance, and range of motion. Tai Chi is adaptable and safe for people of all ages and stages of health.

 

ARTHRITIS: WALK WITH EASE 

Our MOW Diablo Region Low Impact-Arthritis Foundation exercise programs are designed to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and body composition in a welcoming and supportive environment. Our goal is for our clients to enjoy a more active lifestyle and improve overall health and wellness.

 

BINGOCIZE®

MOW Diablo Region offers Bingocize®, an evidence-based program that combines a bingo-like game with exercise and health education. The program has been shown to increase older adults' functional fitness, health knowledge, and social engagement in a variety of settings.

 

YOUNG AT HEART  

Meals on Wheels Diablo Region offers this evidence-based fall prevention and strength-building program; designed to improve balance, flexibility, strength, and endurance.  All exercises can be done seated or standing, and all levels of mobility are welcome.
