Meals on Wheels Diablo Region’s annual Dining to Deliver Gala on June 10, 2023 is sure to deliver fun, food, dancing, and great auction prizes. But the main purpose of the evening is to help the organization deliver meals and supportive services to vulnerable seniors in our community.
“Last year’s event was sold out,” says MOW Diablo Region Executive Director, Caitlin Sly. “It was wonderful to see how the community stepped forward to support the vital service we provide to our older neighbors by attending Dining to Deliver.”
Tickets are selling fast for this year’s Dining to Deliver Gala. They can be purchased online by going to https://www.mowdiabloregion.org/upcoming-events. Tickets are $175 each or $1,500 for a table of 10.
Every day in the United States 10,000 people turn 70 and in Contra Costa County seniors are the fastest growing segment of the population. MOW Diablo Region continues to meet the increased demand for meals and supportive services. Last year, the organization delivered over 600,000 meals, a record in its 55-year history and this year, they are on track to deliver even more. Its Fall Prevention Program has grown by 150% since 2019 and it continues to fight social isolation through its Friendly Visitors and Callers program.
“We are the safety net for so many elders,” says Sly. “Since all our services are provided free of charge, we depend on the generosity of the community. Dining to Deliver allows people to support our work and have fun at the same time.”
Dining to Deliver has also had overwhelming support from the business community. MOW Diablo Region welcomes Martinez Refining Company as its Diamond Sponsor. Home Instead and John Muir Health are Emerald Sponsors, and CSAA, PG&E, Davi Produce, Walnut Creek Toyota, and Kaiser are the Sapphire Sponsors
The event will feature Franco Finn, the in-arena “Warriors Hype Man” as Auctioneer and Paul Heggen, KPIX-TV’s award-winning Chief Meteorologist will again be the Master of Ceremonies.
